Acorn Glade glamping York
FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions?

FAQs

Q: Can I bring my children?

A: Acorn Glade is an adults-only couples retreat. So, the old saying goes….’two’s company, but three is a crowd’. Therefore, we encourage guests to enjoy the peace and quiet ambience away from children. Our business insurance prevents us from including anyone under 18, this is also because we have a lake, which, for some children could be dangerous if they are unsupervised.

Q: Can I bring my well-behaved dog?

A: We are a designated wildlife site and we have to take ecology very seriously. Therefore, to encourage nesting Kestrels, Owls, Bats, Geese, Ducks and our Alpacas our policy is to kindly ask that you do not bring any pets with you on holiday as they can disturb the natural wildlife.

There is Storwood Kennels www.storwoodkennels.co.uk situated 1.7 miles away 4 minutes by car £18 per night or £30 for two dogs.

Q: Does all accommodation have toilets?

A: Bluebell Log Cabin and Daisy Round house have their own eco toilets, which is a ‘green’ composting toilet. There are no toilets in Rose log cabin or Poppy yurt however, they are situated less than 50 paces away from the amenity block (called the Chicken Shed). There, you will find toilets and showers for your convenience.

Q: What facilities do you have for the disabled?

A: There is a semi-ambulant washroom (with a regular height Shower, toilet, wash basin) However, due to the rustic nature of the site we have no access ramps to the amenity block and accommodation. The foot paths are either grassed or have bark chippings and are uneven. Please refer to our access statement at the bottom of the page.We do have a policy for guide and caring dogs.

Q: Do you have hot tubs?

A: we don’t have hot tubs because we are unable to empty them safely without the chemical filled waste water entering the natural water course on site. What we do have is a wonderful glistening lake.
